Event registration in Fleet Watch allows you to make records in the unit log and register events for units. These events can later be viewed on the Messages tab and in reports for example.
To register events, please follow the steps below:
- Go to the Monitoring tab.
- Make sure the unit for which you want to register an event is in your work list.
- If you don’t see the event registration icon
, enable the Event registration option in the customiser of monitoring options (this can also be in the drop down menu of your unit). - Click on the icon
opposite the required unit in the work list. - Select the type of event you want to register.
- Fill in the required fields (these vary depending on the event type).
- Click Save and continue to register the event and proceed to adding another, or click OK to save and close the window.
Types of Events You Can Register
1. Record in the Log
- Makes a simple record in the unit log. You only need to provide a description.
2. Custom Event
Registers a custom event in the unit history. You can specify:
- Description
- Date and time
- Whether it’s a violation
Location
3. Unit Status
Registers a status for the unit (e.g., personal or business use). You need to specify:
- Description
- Date and time
4. Fuel Filling
Registers a fuel filling for the unit. Fields include:
- Description
- Volume filled
- Cost
- Date and time
- Location
5. Battery Charge
Registers a battery charge for the unit. Fields include:
- Description
- Amount charged
- Cost
- Date and time
- Location
6. Maintenance Work
Registers maintenance work performed on the unit. Fields include:
- Description
- Service type
- Cost
- Date and time
- Location
Viewing Registered Events
You can view registered events:
On the Messages tab by selecting the “Registered events” message type.
In reports using the “Events” table (if you are unsure how to set this up, please contact us and we will set this up for you).
On the unit tracks if you enable event markers.
