The Users tab in the monitoring system is where you can manage all available users. It allows you to create new users, as well as perform actions like editing or viewing properties, copying, and deleting existing users. You can also use the dynamic search to quickly find users by their name.
To get started, follow the steps below:
- Log in to the Fleet Watch monitoring system.
- Go to the Users tab.
- Click on the New button.
After clicking “New”, follow these steps:
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name*: Enter a unique name (login) for the user (4–50 characters).
- Password: Specify a password for the user to log in. The password must be 8–100 characters long and include at least one special character, one number, one uppercase letter, and one lowercase letter.
- Confirm password: Re-enter the password to confirm it.
- Select the measurement system: Choose the preferred measurement system for the user.
- Configure additional tabs (if necessary):
- Access: Configure the access rights this user will have to other system objects.
- Advanced: Adjust advanced user settings.
- Custom fields: Add any custom fields for the user.
- Click OK to save the new user.
To see the newly created user in the list, you may need to reload the page.
Actions available on the “Users” tab
Once users are created, you can perform various actions directly from the Users tab using the icons next to each user’s name:
- Log in as another user (
): If you have the Act on behalf of this user access right, you can log into the system as that user. - Open user properties (
): This allows you to view or edit the user’s properties across various tabs, including General, Access, Advanced, Logs, Custom fields, and Session management. - Copy user (
): This creates a new user with the same properties as the selected one, which you can then modify and save. - Delete user (
): This allows you to remove a user from the system. Please note that you cannot delete a user who is the creator of other system objects unless those objects are deleted first.
